I think i might be mentally unstable

I could give you a long spill or get straight to the point.

I'm getting straight to the point...

Lately I've been getting so angry and frustrated with things I feel like laughing and crying at the same time. I'm sure that isn't good for me. Is this a sign of some sort of instability or something because I fell like it is?

Anger is usually the result of frustration which is usually the result of feeling powerless to fix or control something in your life. This is of course a very simplified idea and there could be many other reasons you feel this way. This is advice from my perspective and may not work for you. But hey, when you feel like shit, anything is worth a go.
I don't think you are mentally unstable particularly when you are coherent enough to question whether you actually are crazy. Laughing and crying are natural ways to help the body vent the excess emotion you are feeling. Go with it. It is likely you are just very confused and have conflicting ideas in your head which can make it feel like you are about to go crazy.
I have usually felt my most craziest when I have had very strong yet opposing beliefs or feelings about something. My logical mind was saying I should stay with my with my wife out of obligation and it was the right thing to do yet on the other hand my intuition and heart was just as strongly telling me the opposite. It nearly drove me mad with despair. In situations like this, go with your heart and put yourself first.
Try and think about what is making you angry. Is it just a single thing or a multitude of things? Start with the smallest most basic issue and be honest with yourself what it is about. Without being honest to yourself it won’t work. I have discovered we are just as good, if not better at lying to ourselves about things than we are to other people. When you identify the problem or conflicting emotions, convince yourself, or better yet, know you have the power to solve the problem. It will feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Be patient, give it time. Particularly if you have a big realisation, allow time for it to sink in. Then work yourself up from there.

We all go through periods of feeling.. unsettled. Anxiety, frustration, anger, depression - they're all under the umbrella of normal emotions.

The degree to which they infringe upon your life determines whether or not you have a genuine illness.

Without knowing more details, we can't decide if the extent of your feelings is great enough to be diagnosable, or small enough to be within the realm of the ordinary human roller-coaster of emotions.. The emoti-coaster! The loco-emotion!

However, if you're worried and disturbed by how you're feeling, perhaps it'd be a good idea to talk to someone in person about it. Someone who can support you and offer advice.

Just don't think about it. Try things new, travel/cook/paint/make new friends/etc. Or don't do anything, it will go away sooner or later.

Um... mixed emotions! Don't worry! Your body's just telling you a message, but I'm sure you'll get it! Just do whatever you do and don't think about it AT ALL!
