I think i'm failing my exams on purpose!

hi,

i'm in the second year of a degree and currently slap bang in the middle of my exams. The problem is i haven't been able to motivate myself to work for them even though they count towards my final mark and i'm paying £3000 a year for the privilege of being here. Even when i get into the exam i don't even try that hard. I've been getting more and more depressed when i have work on and can never get down to doing it so it builds up... and so does the pressure.

I kind of fell into the course and have no real reason for choosing it above others and i haven't really enjoyed it so far. Is it normal to act like this?

failure, passing, ranking, dropouts these words are useless.they don't have meaning unless there is some kind of work behind them.do work atleast you will be proud of it

dude a person becomes useless when he does not work in his life cycle. So please do not go towards uselessness. Its complete failure. When you know you are going to fail its better to get rid of it and do some kind of business.so you wont feel the pain of failing as you have contributed towards something.

Your mind might be telling you that that's not really want you want to do, so you're ending up failing on purpose.

I'm in the same boat. I have a thesis to write, which I'm already a long way down the road with. I try to adopt non-traditional writing techniques to account for idleness; so I read, and when an idea comes into my head I note it down on a scrap of paper. I'm hoping in the end I will be able to organise the thing in my head, and then write it all in a flurry of activity. We'll see how it goes. You could also try mind-maps. These are colourful, and can be fun to draw - might get you doing something.

Dont waste your money and time on school. Do what you REALLY want to do. You only have one life, live it! :D

Yeah dude I was there like a year ago. School can plain just be dull at times. Sometimes we need a change up or just something else for awhile espcially if we've been school for the majority of our life. Thats why I took a year off after being tired of school, and now I'm getting ready to go back. So i'd try that instead of wasting your money.

  • EXACT SAME PROBLEM HERE. I am answering stupid questions instead of studying for my test tomorrow.

The only conclusion I have came up with is that I am taking the wrong courses and should change after this term is over.

Lastly, thank you for your question. I am going to go back and study now.
