I think i'm a music nazi...

I love music! I can't get enough! but the problem is when someone else likes a band that I completely hate like "Nickle Bake" I can get in an arguement for hours with them and just start hateng them for likeing a different band. I almost lost a friend because he liked johnny Cash and I liked Elvis and we would just argue about it... any ways here are some of the bands or artist I like... The Killers, Aerosmith, Elvis Presley, Led Zepplin, Rush, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Doors, Gorillaz and a lot more... But some of the bands I hate... Nickle back, Fall out Boy, 50 cent, well really any rap, all country music besides Garth Brooks, and the Artic Monkeys...
Is this normal to be a Music Nazi?
does any one else do this?
Does any one agree with my Fav. bands?

The Killers, Aerosmith, Elvis Presley, Led Zepplin, Rush, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Doors, Gorillaz, all rad. but all country music besides Garth Brooks? go listen to some Porter Wagoner, Patsy Cline, Del Reeves or Hank Williams dude. it's all good stuff.

I had a friend like this and it really drives people away to be so over opinionated and stubborn. For some people this made her interesting because she had an opinion, was passionate about it and stuck to her guns but honestly it's not so cute years down the line. Try to balance seeing other peoples point of view with having a passion about what you believe in. There are times when you should pick your battles...

You shouldnt take offense because you made the article, but people like you are a litttttle annoying.

Look, we all have bands we hate. I hate emo bands like Simple Plan, and a few friends like them and they're lame for doing so, but that's it. You make a joke whenever they mention them, like 'off to slash yourself now?' and laugh.

You cant convince someone your music is better or that theirs is bad. If they're won over by the song, theres nothing you can do. You can put a billion statistics in their face, saying that Artist A outsold Artist B or w/e, but they'll still listen to their favourite and be unashamed.

The beatles were a mediocre pop band till they released "rubber soul", then they were great up until they released that pile of crap "let it be". The stones were ok until they released "beggars banquet" then they were great, up until they released "goats head soup", they've dragged on ever since.

    David Bowie! Terrific indeed!
It's normal to completly despise other bands. If you let your self get het up about it, then you turn into a "music nazi"

    Grand Buffet ftw

Yes, you're a music nazi. You're the kind of person who would be better off silently hating people instead of making a fuss out of it.

I have no idea why people stop liking bands after they become popular.

Nobody likes my favorite bands, so we'll just concentrate on yours.

Your hate list pretty much matches mine:

-Nickleback is just plain dreary most of the time.
-I wish that at least ONE of the bullet wounds 50 Cent got had either killed him or destroyed all ambition for a musical career -- can't stand rap in general, and he's particularly loathsome.
-Fall Out Boy is a neutral for me as are the Arctic Monkeys.
-I just don't listen to country, so I've no opinion on Garth Brooks other than that his looks have always disturbed me, for some reason.

Your like list differs significantly from mine, but I like a lot of oddball stuff like Suicide, Caberet Voltaire, Devo, Infected Mushroom, Einsturzende Neubaten, etc.

-I'm completely saturated with Led Zeppelin since their music is played relentlessly on the classic rock stations, but "Hanging from the Gallows Pole" and "Battle of Evermore" are two of my favorite songs ever.
-The Killers are off to a fine start; I'll look forward to hearing more from them.
-Bob Dylan gives me a HUGE pain in the ass because of his arrogance and gutless voice, but he's an outstanding poet and a huge influence to many different musical genres.
-Elvis made an undisputed contribution to rock, but I just never enjoyed any of the music that originated in the 50's.
-Aerosmith, like Led Zeppelin, is massively overplayed so I don't listen to them often anymore.
-Bowie I still like, although the guy is really starting to look like he needs a heart transplant or something.
-The Gorillaz puzzle me -- is this a studio band, or what? I can't really get a handle on their style.
-Rush -- sorry; can't stand 'em; they sound like 100 other bands; no distinct style.
-The Doors -- outstanding. There were and are amongst the most interesting groups ever.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

anything aerosmith did after about 1982 sucks big time.only good elvis was pre army elvis about 10 songs--pretty much everything he did after the army was shitty lounge lizard stuff.

garth is all about the smoke and mirrors---he cant sing a lick and he isnt country he is more pop.

merle haggard and johhny cash and george jones loretta lynn are country.

early bowie is good everything since the 90s has blowed chunks.his ziggy stardust album is one of the greatest records of all time tho.

rush blows....just screaming nonsense lyrics and wimpy canadian band as well.

zep is Ok until robert plant got all pussy.

the doors are the only thing you got listed that are totally good all the way .

whhhatttt????? Rush is amazing! I love them, and they are most certainly not wimpy. Double taked guitars, double taked bass, pounding drums, screaming vocals from sir Geddy Lee....you're a dumbass. Besides this, they are also extremely intelligent. Listen to some of the lyrics, you dipshit.

I do agree with the aerosmith thing... everything sucked balls they had to sing with Run D.M.C to rejump their career remaking Walk this way... but I liked the 90's stuff like "nine lives" and "get a grip" but I fucking hate "just push play"

can't say I agree with The Elvis comment... >=( I love Elvis and I love all his songs...

I just think Garth Brooks is ok I wouldn't get offened by any bad words towards him :P

and by David Bowie I meant Ziggy Stardust... I don't like anything after his Glam rock music

yeah even though Rush is from canada >:P I still like them... IDK why everyone that commented hates them ....

I'm not sure about Zepplin yet I'm just now getting into them and I'm not sure whats new and whats old cause it was just a greatest hits CD.. but I like everything

Whats with everyone likeing the doors? I know they are great but you guys bashed every other band haha After I saw the doors Movie I kind of lost interest in them... that movie pissed me off...

that doors movie was nothing to do with the doors ,that was oliver stones wet dream is all that was, listen to the doors music man, groove on it,and there are a few good books on the doors and jim morrison.one of the best is by john densmore the drummer for the doors and the greatest rock drummer of all fucking time.just listen to his drum work has he lays a beat for morrisons musical orgasm.

If "when the musics over" isnt the greatest rock opus of all time Ill eat my own foot.

Nice to hear from a fellow Doors admirer. Their music was wonderfully atmospheric and even menacing at times. Loved Morrison; too bad he burnt out so young. I still crank their music up to the top whenever they get a little air play (unless it's something from Soft Parade; then, not so much :-)

oh hell I love the doors..haha sorry if I didn't write clearly I have plenty of doors CDs I just watched the movie and it pissed me off... Oliver stone fucks up a lot of shit though... in my opinion I think the greatest drummer of all time is John Bonham from led zepplin...

I do like the doors but my favorite band of all time is Aerosmith... Ever sense I was little I love them... I found my moms CDs and I went through them and found the album get a grip my aerosmith and I loved the song living on the edge... after that I just kept buying CD after CD... I love it all...well not all of it but most... and I really love his daugther Chelsae Tyler! not liv tyler though. :P

haha I'm glad you agree with the bands I hate...

"gutless voice" haha yeah he can;t sing worth a shit but it fits his music though... He is the greatest poet of all time to me...

Aerosmith over played? I hardly ever hear Aerosmith where I'm from.... but I guess thats because I live in the country and all they fucking play is lynard skinner! if they ever do play aerosmith it's only like 3 songs they chose from "Sweet emotions" "dream on" or "walk this way"

and if they play led zepplin all I hear is "stairway to heaven" rock and roll" or "Immigrant song" the also play alot of shitty AC/DC!
Its not that I hate AC/DC it's just that a lot of people at school wear the shirts and can't even name 5 songs... I feel like the ruined a good band by making it too commerical...

I hear ya about the shirts. I love AC/DC and Pink Floyd, but I hate people wear the shirts without knowing a thing about their music. I even was asked a few times if I actually liked their music
          ***************************************************
Favorite album Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (1973) (Right after Syd Barrett's departure, and Roger Waters came in)
Favorite song: Breathe/On the Run (Technically 2 songs, but they run as one)

Incidentally, I wonder how many people will give me shit for liking Johnson over Scott. (Both are awesome though)

yeah because tshirts really ruin the quality of the music- if it gets too popular it sucks... typical "semi-popular music snob" talk.
