I think fortnite is overrated

I've played it once and didn't find it very fun and the name of it pops up EVERYWHERE. There is rarely a day at school where it isn't mentioned. It's all over youtube, the dances have lost their originality because of it and it's just overrated and has discouraged me from ever playing it.

I'm also a little concerned, a classmate of mine said that he was going to spend his Christmas money on "V-bucks" and I'm like 'ok...'. It's his money but I think there is much better ways to spend it...

Anyway, Is it normal that I think Fortnite is overrated?

    Dude I spent over 1k on Overwatch, I think it's fine to spend money on shit you find fun.

    It's just the flock's current thing.

    How often do you see loom-bands or fidget spinners now? Kids still play Minecraft, but you hardly ever hear about it these days.

    Hang on for a year, and there will be something new.

    I gave Fortnite a go but the only part I found fun was building treehouses. You can build better treehouses in minecraft.
    It's only this popular because the base game is free.
