I think democracy is a bad system

The average person is either too stupid, emotional, or fanatic to vote, and democracy is failing in the West.

Dictatorship is way better. Think of how quickly protesters would be squashed into oblivion by tanks. Pointing your dumb little phone at people won’t help.

They are. Look at China, while not technically a dictatorship the "president" is in the only allowed party and he actively kills his rivals.

They are putting muslims into concentration camps (I dont like islam but not on holocaust levels) they are also making land grabs because "it is historically theirs" (which breaks the UN mandate for no wars of territory acquisition). Now what country does that sound like in the past. If you said the national socialist party of germany or NAZI before ww2 you would be correct.

      • It sounds like pretty much any non-modern state. There have always been atrocities because or religion and people grabbing territory when they can.

They are using intimidation rather than diplomacy. China just fucked over russia one of their closest allies because they wanted a city back that wasnt theirs for the last 80 years. Instead of idk using diplomacy to eventually get the city they just expanded the borders around the city and threw out the Russians.

If they treat their own allies like this how the hell do you think they are going to treat the countries that hate them (pretty much every pacific country excluding north korea)

Ww2 was started because three countries wanted to expand because they needed more resources to grow instead of having industry and using capitalism. (Of course there are dozens of other factors but with the expansion of the japanese empire and the german one it leads to the priorities during the war)

China is in a massive financial and naval disadvantage if they were to go to war. A blockade would cripple them in months due to food shortage since most of their food is imported. As well as most of their fuel. They need to expand or risk collapsing under the growing middleclass of china.

That's three reasons why we have a democratic republic, and not a pure democracy here in the United States. Don't know the difference? Google it! I'm not here to educate you further.

I believe that you just validated the guts of your own statement, and its clear that you don't even know that there is not a single pure democracy government in the world.

Your also apparently lazy in that you want others to educate you for something you could do on your own.

        • I can't be the only one seeing this right? I just want people to look at how these people have responded to a question they suppose they heard, to a message they suppose I wrote. This is exactly what I'm talking about. How can people like this vote on matters of the greatest importance when they can't even comprehend a simple thought process accurately.

        • Also, the first democracy in Athens was a place with a massive slave population, and where the heavy majority of its population couldn't even vote. Don't bullshit me into thinking you know about what counts as a "pure democracy". There are many modern Western democracies that are far purer to democratic values than their ancient counterparts which were considered democracies.

Pure democracy is mob rule. The founding fathers did not want 3 major cities controlling the entire country.

But hillary won the popular vote! People in the fly over states dont want california and New York to make all the decisions since they arent even being competent with their own states!

The electoral college is honestly the closest system we are going to get to a "fair" system. Each state has different populations but roughly the same amount of voting power as eachother with their electorates. Just because your state has more people shouldn't make it more important than the state next to it. We are a federation and all states need to be able to say who gets to rule.

Some people like the lie that their votes actually affect anything meaningful about their lives.

It’s not a system, it’s never actually existed as described.
