The problem is our brains aren't evolved enough to see difference between sex on a screen and sex irl. Clicking to pornographic images triggers the same chemicals as real sex. Now that's a great question. It's the same way you watch a horror movie and feel the tension as if it was you hiding from the monster. Our brain's limbic system (involved in sensing pleasure and storing memory) just isn't evolved enough to tell the difference between the stimuli. With technology having developed so rapidly in just a few generations, we live in a completely different world than what people did 100,000 years ago, and yet our minds are still wired the same way.
I'd give it another 500,000 years before we notice any real difference. I just hope we make it until then lol
