I tested positive for strep b(found in pregnant woman) but im not?

May 25 during my annual pap smear I tested positive for Strep B. The doctors were baffled as if I were the first case they've experienced like this. As I conducted research on the internet I could not find much info about not being pregnant and testing positive. I took a pregnancy test for two months after this to make sure myself. I've had regular cycles as well. Here it is November I decided to buy a pair of jeans for the winter. I usually wear a 7, the only size that could fit me were 11's. I have not missed a period neither have I been sexually active since May. I'm thinking about calling my OBGYN, and requesting blood work to test my HCG levels. Any insight or info, even your opinion if you experienced something like this would be very helpful.
Thanks and best regards to you all.

Well if your doctor says it's not normal... it's not normal.

False positive pregnancy test results, while rare, do occur sometimes. If you don’t look at the test until after the ‘expiry’ period (usually around ten minutes) then you might get an evaporation line, which can be confused with a positive result. (Did I mention checking the instruction sheet carefully?). If you are taking certain fertility drugs or any other medication which may artificially raise the levels of HCG in your body, it is possible to get a false positive pregnancy test result. Or, if there is a manufacturing error in the pregnancy test kit itself, you may have an error in the test – but it’s pretty rare for this to occur. However, if you are TTC, I suggest you to read The Getting Pregnant Plan e-book from http://aboutgettingpregnant.com to know about how to get pregnant fast and naturally without using any drugs. Pregnancy for me is a total approach in both mind and body. Let me know how you go with it ok.

Strep b is not exclusive to pregnancy. Around fifty percent of women are thought to carry the bacteria in their bowels, intestines, and vagina. It is tested for in pregnancy, because it can be easily be passed on to bubs. If you have strep b it doesn't mean you are pregnant. It just means you have an infection of group B streptoccus and can be treated with antibiotics. See your OBGYN or do a little more research.

You doctors have probably been doing a lot of pregnancy tests, but it wouldn't hurt to go back and make sure.

Though as far as jean sizes go, there have been seasons where I thought I had gained or lost weight, when really it was just the size of the pants that changed. I don't know why there's no goddamn standard for women's clothes, why can't we just use the same system as men and have the sizes go by measurement?
