I still kiss my mom goodnight. iin?

Well, I'm 19, female and I've always been close to my parents,
like, I never went through a rebel phase and hated them,
I guess you could say I might be a bit of a goody two-shoes, but whatever.

Anyway, at night before my mom goes to bed, she will sometimes kiss me on the cheek, or lips. You know, just pecks.
We don't find it weird, but I sometimes wonder if it is considered odd to other people.

Is it normal?

It's fine. 23
A little odd, but nothing bad. 10
Eww sick! 7
As long as it's not sexual, then it's fine. 16
Aw. 9
My family does it too. 17

No problemo, I'm 44 years old and whenever I visit my folks I kiss them both hello and goodbye. They're in their mid 70's and we haven't got all the time in the world, so I'm openly affectionate. I tell my mom and dad I love them both everytime I talk to or visit them.

My parents are younger but I feel exactly like that. I feel so blessed to have them.

When I'm living at home, I sometimes do this too. It's completely normal.

I'm twice your age and I squeeze and kiss both my parents every chance I get.

  • Only odd thing about this story is that you felt so compelled to clarify that it's non-sexual haha.

Otherwise, I can't think of many things more normal than showing affection for your parents.

Cheek is fine for anyone. Guys dont kiss family on lips after certain age. But it seems more acceptable for girls. Must be a quick peck.

I'm 20 and do the same (except my family doesn't kiss on the lips, just the cheek). I think showing affection for your family is great. You, your parents, and everyone else are just temporary, so enjoy it while you can.

  • Meh. I would see it as a bit creepy, but I suppose there's nothing wrong with it. I suppose it's not normal but not "wrong".

I'm 43, live 2000 miles away, but when she visits and we say goodnight, sometimes if I feel like I particularly like her that day, I kiss her on the lips. It "means" something to Mommies. I aint no Mommy, but I understand the relationship. Don't listen to anyone being all EWWW, they don't have KIDS, We will always be our Mommy's kids.

Some girls never separate their identity from their mother. It's sort of up to you. Do you really want to be a mature independent woman or not?

Good, as a mom who misses my children my boys never cared what anyone thought. They hug me bye, tell me I love every time we part.you never know those may be you last words. My kids all but my 19 year old daughter kiss my check and hug me good night. My girl was closest to me until 13 now she won't even speak to me since I got MS and I cry almost every-night ,She covers her face to not look at me.Don't hurt moms that love you ,some day you will give anything to spend a minute with here after she's gone. So hug them tight and a nice kiss on the cheek. Always let them know you love them. The hurt of what my baby girl is doing for the last 7 years hurts to the point your lost and wondering what you did or am I to ugly , to-fat ,to-sick I know it is like a knife in my heart when she hugs dad and won't even answer me if I ask," how are you."
