I regret naming my son dracula

I admit I was trying to be cool and defiant when I named my son Dracula and now I realize it was a mistake. He's 4 now so its not like I can just change his name plus I'd have to listen to everyone say "i told ya so". Sucks.

Huh...well...perhaps, assuming you don't want to change it legally, you could call him something more conventional like "drake" as a nickname, and speak to his teachers about not using his full name in school to avoid teasing. As an adult, he can change it if he feels the need to.

Then people will think he's named after the "rapper" Drake. That's more embarrassing then being named Dracula.

      I suggest Count Chocula.

When I hear "Drake" I think of a baby dragon like thingy.

When I hear Drake I think of the makers of RingDings and Devil Dogs.

    • I like this idea! Drake....yes. I'm not very smart so that's probably why I never thought of this.

Aww...good luck to you guys. Who knows? As an adult, he might think it's a badass name...I've always liked unconventional names myself. :)

It's okay, someone I know named their kid Megatron. I agree with calling him Drake! I think there are much worse things you could have named him, to be honest.

Pretty sure you can change his name. say you were still high on pain meds when you named your kid.or you could call him by middle name

You've just ensured that your son will be bullied at school.

    Well done, genius.

    I can see why.

Parents can be so cruel to their children.

What may seem like a cool name in the 10 seconds it took to think up is not a good idea remember the kid is the one that has to live with it.

This is my biggest pet peeve, parents who give their poor kids stupid, ridiculous or embarrassing names. What the hell were you thinking?!
We need naming laws like they have in most of Europe.
Of course if this is a troll, congrats for getting a rise out of me.

There's that kid called Dovakhiin. If he ever gets teased, all he needs to do is dish out some free Skyrim Legendary editions.

Hey its not as awful as some of these made up names like Shunaynay, or shaniqua. Personally if I met someone named Dracula born with that name who was my age I would be pretty stoked. I am a bit odd though.

I was the kid who wanted to slow dance with the kid with a stub instead of a hand due to a birth defect. I thought his stub was amazing and the coolest thing ever. In fact I actually told him that his hand was totally awesome. He was actually a really nice kid.

Look at it this way people will always find something to pick at, so having a name like "Dracula" is the least of your worries. I was picked on for being poor at my school and I do have a nice normal sounding name.
