I started referring to sex as mating just as a joke, but now I'm serious when I say it. I also say things like "I'm going out tonight to find a female to mate with". I'm also going to call my next girlfriend my mate. If the term is good enough for the animals then it's good enough for us. I don't see why we should have separate sex terms for animals and humans anyway, we're animals too. It's just a way to boost our own self-importance. There's really no difference between animals engaging in mating rituals and humans going to nightclubs.

    Doesn't that confuse people into thinking that you are trying to make a baby? Or maybe that is what you are doing, it wasn't clear from the post. I just can't imagine a random girl on a night out wanting to make a baby with a stranger on purpose.

      Huh, maybe you're right. I didn't think it necessarily applies to just reproduction though, I would've labelled that as breeding instead.

    You know some females find it as a turn on. Gets down to some primal rewards center part of the brain. That's part of the reason why cream pies are 150% more satisfying. I imagine the brain is just high fiving itself for passing on its genes.
