I pour my water really slowly

Is it normal that when I fix me a glass of ice water I pour the water real slow to where almost all of the ice melts completely. It takes longer to fix a glass of water, but I think it's colder by the time the glass is full. Weird? Perhaps

    It's the best way to get a really cold glass of water RIGHT NOW. Plus, it dissolves air into the water and that improves the taste.
