i have been doing this since i was 11. its left my arms a mess!! full of scars and infections. at first i started because i was being bullied. and my mum took me to the doctors. the doctor told me it was a form of self harm. (this may not be the case for you.)i now have no problems, just a really bad habit. the doctor gave me a cream called 'Fucidin H cream' its a hysrocortisone but helps the infections and scabs, etc. it won't help the scars but 'bio-oil' can help this. I never went outside without a long sleeved top on. now i've learnt that this is a part of me and if i dont accept myself the way i am, then no other individual will. Hope this helps!<3

Is this what is known as "cutting". One of my most "near & dear" did this for years and her arms are scared for life.

HEY I DO THE EXACT SAME THING!! I'm warning you now you HAVE TO STOP OR YOU WILL NEVER WEAR T-SHIRT AGAIN!! Seriously I started in 10th grade and now I'm in my 2nd year of college and I have scars that look SO ugly because of the picking. Are you a perfectionist? Whatever you do DO NOT start on your face. I'm warning you it's going to suck when you can't wear dresses or short sleeves especially in the summer :( It's hell and idk why we do it- I still can't stop no matter how hard I try. The scars look terrible and mine haven't healed yet it looks like a bunch of bugs bit me and its just so so ugly.

That sounds like a minor OCD issue. Try researching OCD on Goolgle, I'll bet that you will find alot more people with the same problem. As a matter of fact my husband has a similar problem and so does a friend of mine, though the friends is drug induced. Certain medications such as SSRIs, Opiates and Amphetamines will cause you to do this as well.
