the only men i like are ones who are 8-17 years older then me. (i'm 20). the age isnt exactly what turns me on; its just that i find them to have much more of what i want in a man. Maturity, they have their life more together, they are okay with having fun and they are much better at treating a lady the way she should be treated then men my own age. Theres one in particular i like a lot, but I think he's little nervous about dating me. I wish I could show him how awesome it would be. is this normal???

    I'm 20, my last boyfriend was 37 and it was fabulous. True, we got a few looks when we went out where people didn't know us, but my parents and friends loved him and it was just normal to everyone :)

    You sound like a perfectly sensible woman. There are many women like you out there, so don't worry about it. Women are generally more mature than men by a few years anyway. I'm a man and I hate degrading my fellow men,but I have to admit that most 20 year-old men don't really know what they're doing anyway when it comes to dating, they just want sex and they don't think of anything else.

    As for your fella, he has good reason to be nervous. I'm 30 and if I were seen walking around with a 20 year-old girl and was seen by colleagues, family and/or friends, there is a real danger they will think I'm just trying to take advantage of the girl. The only way out of this is to simply talk to him and ask him exactly what's making him nervous. There might be other reasons too. He could be... err, inexperienced and didn't want to show it or he's afraid that the two of you would have vastly different hobbies and interests. Just talk to him and see what happens.     I dont think what you have is an age thing. you just like a particular kind of man. Im sure if you met a younger guy who acted like he was 30 (for example me, and im not trying to ask you out.) you would find him attractive as well.
