A few years ago, just for a lark, and as I'm pretty good at acting, I told a friend I was an alien from another planet – and she believed me (she was kind of gullible about alien / mystical matters etc and I later found out she had mental health issues, I felt a little bad about that later)

But anyway, I said to her, "There's something I have to tell you. You know how everyone thinks I'm this person called 'David'? (not my real name).

Well actually I'm not. I've been sent here on a mission from another planet..."

Then I spun this bullshit story around all of that and even demonstrated speaking in my 'alien language'... and she totally believed me.

Is it normal that people are so gullible to believe alien stories?

    If you are a Latino, then maybe. Not so much about the other planets and shit, but about being an alien, certainly.

    Yes is is, new age kooks believe all kinds of stuff, you could tell her your part of the Illuminati or something and she might swallow that to. The mental illness only makes it worse.

      It's funny you say that because 'new age kook' describes her exactly. She would believe everything and anything 'new age', including my bullshit alien story.

      For a few weeks I know she believed me totally. She was pretty gullible about new age kooky stuff plus her mental health issues added to it.
