I never wore named brand clothes

When I was in high school, I've never wore name brand clothes. My parents always brought me unnamed brands and shoes have always been original shoes, no name. I see other kids with, Levis, duckheads jeans, ivory crews, nikes, you name them. I never wanted to go to school because I never had anything good to wear. Have anyone ever went through this.

name brand cloths are a scam for the most part anyway, the only think name brand ill ever where is like vans or converse if it looks really color and is on sale or on the discount rack

  • Well it goes to show I wrote this a year ago, and looking back on some of the comments, it's ridiculous. I can't believe some people will actually let their children get away with a lot, just by talking to them. My opinion will be that I will spank my kids and sometimes talking or taking things from them isn't good enough. Spanking your kid won't cause no traumatic trauma, but it'll teach them to behave in society and not to disrespect grown ups.

I never wear name brand clothes. It's a waste of money to pay more for the same thing just because of the name.

I do however have some name brand shoes purely because they're comfortable.

My friend went to a school where anyone who didn't have named brands got singled out and bullied as a poor kid.

I had the opposite experience. I came from a poor area and there wasn't enough money for food, never mind "brands". Most of the kids at school were in the same boat. If a new kid came into our school wearing Nikes, the Nikes didn't last the day and the kid spent lunchtime picking up his teeth with a broken arm.

Where did you go to school? Somalia?
He would really get his arm broken and his teeth smashed in for wearing that? No warning or anything?

lol, nah, "picking up your teeth with a broken arm" is just a saying here. A few people got roughed up (but didn't lose teeth). However, one boy did lose an eye because a girl knocked him to the ground and stuck her heel in his face. That one isn't a saying. That one happened during, of all things, a cooking lesson.

Clothes are clothes. Doesn't matter what your wearing as long as it fits. Being bullied just because of the clothes you wear is really sad.

I wore name brands in high school, and then I got to college and no one else did. Don't feel weird about it.. being in high school sucks especially when you don't have what everyone else has. I wouldn't worry about it too much though... just because your things aren't name brand doesn't mean you don't look good!

    • Yes.....very much. My parents had jobs that kept getting lay offs.

Then, it makes perfect sense why you didn't have brand name clothes as brand name is more expensive.
