I was inteviewing somebody for work who was french. He asked if he could do the interview in french as he thought he could give better answers, he was allowed because the job he wanted did not require much talking.

Soi spent a while interviewing him in full french until it was over. But when the next interviewee came in and said something, i momentarily couldn't understand them. IIN

    It's always fun when we meet Spanish and French yachties at a party on the beach. We're all sailors so that brings us together, but then flipping back and forth between the two languages has me, in a short while, speaking French to the Spaniards and vice versa. By the end of the evening, I can't even remember what language to speak with my lady. Of course, the free rum punch has absolutely nothing to do with any of my confusion. Of course.

    I am English and I live in Norway. This happens to me so often. I can be talking in English and try to find a word to describe something and only the Norwegian word comes to mind. Alternatively, people ask me for the English translation and I cannot think of the English word suddenly. Really basic obvious words too.

    It is especially funny when I try to recall German. Since learning Norwegian, my knowledge of German has suffered badly. Whenever I try to construct a German sentence words from English and Norwegian sneak in there before I know what I am even saying.

    One of the hazards of being bi-/multi- lingual.

    I'm not fluent in multiple languages, but I would think that could be a common thing to happen.
