I miss valentine's day school cards

Does anyone miss Valentine's Day school cards? Wondering??? At 24, I think I'm too old for this. Not that I care. Bought My Little Pony cards to hand out to friends with candy attached. If you do this, then I'm not alone.

I really don't understand why anyone would encourage children to eat more sugar :/

          Lol
          its a holiday.
sugar every now and then is fine.
If the child is eating sugar everyday thats the parents fault ... not the schools small celebration of a holiday

Really explains a lot about America...

            Schools should be setting examples.

Long ago when I lived down under, I noticed a huge difference in the cultural perception of Valentines Day between Australian women and American women. It's not surprising that you would find all of this a bit confusing.

              Its a holiday.
On holidays and birthdays they allow sweets. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Its up to me personally to keep my own daughter at a healthy weight.
Even with holidays my daughter isnt fat or unhealthy.

Lol, yeah it's real but unlike in the simpsons they made us buy as many cards as there were kids in the class, so no one would be left out...

Also, I remember going on parades around the block on holidays like that before we would get candy, so maybe that was their attempt at making it healthy..? Halloween made sense because we were in costumes but i dont know what we did for valentines... might've made some hats in art class for it or something... ahh good times

of course that was like 15 years ago so idk if they've made it more healthy since then

  • If I have a kid and this happens in school I'mm'a give him a card to send to someone. "Roses are red, violets are blue, come noon you will be too!" >:)

Sure he'll probably get therapists and/or expelled but you can't put a price on humour. :D

I miss that, too... Last year's V-Day, I gave out printed pictures of my friend's fandoms. Now, I'll just doodle little comics and give them out like I did for Thanksgiving (I accidentally skipped X-mas and New Year's... Oh well)!

...OOPS! (Hopefully my friend doesn't read this or she'll know what I'm doing this year!)

Yeah I miss the candy... Sometimes I buy those little hearts with words on, they are so good! Reminds me of candy cigs which are gone now too..:(

its perfectly normal. Either you're just fond of valentine's day, or you miss your childhood.

    Thats funny.

I liked them as a kid... id be happily surprised to get one now.

In highschool my school had flower delivery. .. you paid for some flowers and people would deliver them during classes. .. I did that for my friends at the time.
another time in college I drew each of my friends a picture.

Ah, cool! That delivery sounds like what they did over at my school for Christmas. They sold litte plushies, ornaments, and snowglobes, so you could book it for someone and they'll send it to them.
