I miss my pre-internet brain

By pre-internet brain, I don't mean as in before I started using the internet in general, as I have been using it since I was around 8. However, I miss the way I thought before I started wandering into the dark side of the internet (like YouTube comments for serious issues, Rule 34, etc.). Before age 15 or so, I did use the internet a lot for games and MMOs, as well as using YouTube comments for more casual things like games and music, but I never wandered into the more fucked up places like say conspiracy theorist sites and furry porn until around age 15, and from then on I started having some morbid curiosity. All the horrible content like racism, extreme animal cruelty, religious insanity was like a train wreck - You hate what you see, but you can't look away. Except this time, parts of the train keep exploding and sending shrapnel into you. Furthermore, my attention span has been largely eroded.

I miss my pre-internet brain. Is this normal?

You can choose to look away. You might be addicted so there could be some withdrawal, but you can still choose to stop looking at twisted bullshit.

The thing is that my morbid curiosity ended up getting the better of be between ages 15-20.
