I miss being a young kid

I miss not caring about issues, not being informed, learning new things, being myself, making friends, having my parents be able to make all the decisions, having nightmares and sleeping with them, not worrying about the scary things in the world, not being involved in uncomfortable situations, hiding behind my mom when I feel shy, not worrying about how ugly I look, not worrying about my grades, how much work I have, and what people think of me.

I'm pretty sure everyone misses not having any responsibility.

I think it's normal to miss being a little kid if you had good, and loving parents, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't miss being little kids, because they probably associate that time with being really helpless rather than being cared for, and loved. Do you have a gratitude list? I think it's hoo everyone to keep a gratitude list. It looks to me like you were a very blessed child in your youth, and that's certainly something for which to be grateful.

A lot of people feel this way, it's actually extremely common.

I felt this way when I was in junior high and high school because those were horribly tough times for me, but now that I am an adult and have realized the level of control I have over my life and the fact that I have a lot more privileges and freedom as an adult than I did as a child, I love adulthood. Yes, some responsibilities are not fun and are a pain in the ass, but most of the time they make me feel productive and accomplished, and even if they don't and are purely a pain in the ass, I think the privileges and freedom I get in return are a fair tradeoff.

I do think life seemed simpler when I was younger because I had no knowledge of politics, the hardships going on in the world, that there are quite a few things that can put a damper in one's hopes and dreams, etc., but I just do the best with what I have, and be thankful for it.

I think as you get older, you start to care less about what others think of you, as well. I was most insecure about what others thought about me as a teen, and have begun to care less and less as I've gotten older. Life really does get a lot better and easier once you learn to let others' opinions go through one ear and out the other.
