So when I was about 3 I can just remember sitting in my bed and suddenly I got this urge to masturbate (which I didn't really know that that is what it was called or anything). Keep in mind I am a girl. So i did and it felt so good I basically did it every night and then around age 10 I learned all about what it really was and all that but I kept doing it. Ever since then I've kinda wondered. Why did I get that urge and no one else my age did? What do you guys think?

    Was older than that..but have always been addicted to fingering myself..and then my dogs started helping me..

    Children masturbate. It's not a sexual thing at that age, it's just an "it feels good" thing.

    Why shouldn't you keep doing it? It's your body, it's not harmful, and you're not bothering anyone else.

    I have read of children discovering masturbation when they were very small, but I think it's more common with boys since they have this thing sticking out that sorta invites messing around with. Girls need to do some exploring of their genitals, and they usually get all sorts of messages from the time they're very young that that area is dirty and touching it is taboo.

    Maybe your parents were more relaxed about such things, so you never thought you shouldn't touch there, and when you did, it felt nice, so you kept on doing it.

    For whatever reason you discovered it very early that's nothing to be ashamed of.

      Childhood amnesia is a weird thing, and I wouldn't dismiss the OP's memories as impossible, particularly if she's still in her early or mid-teens.

      There are rare adults who can clearly recall detailed, very early memories, but you're normal in not being able to recall anything from when you were three. However, it's possible you would have still remembered events in your life at that age when you were, say, thirteen, but those memories have become inaccessible since then.

    Way too young. The normal age for first masturbation is around 11 or 12, when puberty starts.
