I make small cuts on my hands, not depressed.

I'm a perfectly happy guy who isn't depressed at all. I took anti depressants a few years ago but I slowly weened myself off them after I left school. The past few months I have been making small cuts on my fingers and hands, for reasons unknown. I guess the pain gives me a rush. I usually make the cuts in the same spot so I don't get weird looks. Is this normal? Do people think its weird?

Some people say they cut themselves to try to feel in the 'now' - to feel present.
There are better ways to do this - google 'mindfulness'. Try to make a few minutes each hour where you focus on something right now, here. Your hand, your shorts, the chair. And don't 'think ahead ' in your thoughts.

And stop cutting. Doesn't matter if others think.it's weird or not . You deserve better - be nice to yourself.
