I'm obessed with an anime character

I'm pretty much obssessed with this one anime character and I always dream about him. If he's not in my dream, then I am him or I am dressing as him. This happens maybe in 80% of my dreams. Thing is that I'm a girl, and so when I'm this character I am cross-dressing, or everyone mistakes me for a male LOL. I've watched the whole anime series twice and haven't seen it for maybe a year, but I always dream about this character. Is this an abnormal degree of obsession?

    Your just a die hard fan is all. Anime and manga are lethal when it comes to addictions. THey are easy to get addicted too.

    I have to keep myself in check. But I've never experianced what you have... not to that degree.

    who cares what other people say its your life
    do what ever you want!!
    like life is pretty cool but animes cooler!
    one day i will make a machine that will make anime into real things then we will be the ones laughing ( but its probaly impossable to make such a machine , but we can keep dreaming about it , right?? )

    who is it? is it Rinku from Yu Yu Hakusho?
    or Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin? lol just wondering..i'm probably way off. i just really like those two shows. i totally dig rinku..i don't mean that in a crush way, but he's just such a cute kid<33

    I think it depends on how young you are. If you're about under 20 its weird, if you're above 20 then we could assume you're more intellectually interested rather than emotionally.

    If you're raelly emotional and you feel like you have some sort of "love" for a fictional character then its not very healthy. Maybe your mind is confused and doesnt realize they're not real.

    Also the fact that you're girl doesn't matter I think. As long as you don't have attraction to other girls, that would be very Abnormal.

    So I say focus your interest in the character by drawing it, not dressing up like him or def not talking or acting like them.

    Remember that Anime is a somewhat abstract art style so if people try to act like anime characters it looks really bad, especially if kids do it.

      I think it's mostly because I feel like I am a lot like this character. I don't know why I dream about him all the time, I think it's because I subconsciously have the desire to be more masculine because I associate masculinity with strength, and this character is the one I feel most like emotionally. In the dreams where I'm this character, I always achieve everything I want and am respected by everyone. I've been abused by a boyfriend, and I wished I was stronger so I wouldn't get pushed around.

      I definitely don't think I'm in "love" with an emotional character. That would be weird, and so would dressing or acting like the character. I've occasionally drawn or written this character, but I write more original stories than fanfiction.

    It's quite a bit overboard, I mean it's okay to like anime characters, I like a lot of video game characters but I don't obsess over them.

    And I don't dream about them. Tone it down a bit.
