I'm not anorexic (bmi 19) but i hate eating when i'm on my own.

I was overweight as a child, I was teased because of it by everyone (yes, everyone including my parents) I grew out of being overweight and was a "normal but slightly chubby" size 10-12 (6-8 US and was about 130lbs I'm 5'3")

I suffered some depression a few years ago and stopped eating. I lost a lot of weight. I went to a size 8 (4 US). That was 6 years ago and I STILL hate eating.
I'm a size 4-6 now (0-2 and about 112lbs) and I still think I'm fat and eating is such a chore.

I only eat in front of others, like when I'm around people (like work and family/fiancé) I eat normally (although only salad and grilled chicken)

When I'm alone I like to see how long I can go without food for. If I feel hungry I just drink a big cup of black coffee. It gets to the point where I feel sick because I am so hungry.

It does sounds to me that due to your experiences as an child, you have been developing some type of eating disorder (ED).

Thanks for the comments so far, I suppose I've had disordered eating for quite some time.
Hopefully, by speaking to the doctor I'll get some help.

I hope you do get some help from your description youre anorexic. Ive done this myself various times and it will harm your health in the long run. Im one of those people whose weight changes dramatically from underweight to overweight. It sucks but you can find ways of changing your habits.

That is absolutely NOT normal. You may not have anorexia nervosa, but it sure sounds like you have EDNOS.

I used to do that when I was stressed, depressed, or too busy to be bothered. I went almost 3 weeks without a full meal at some point. I haven't done that for about six months but my stomach and overall health have never been the same again. Please take care of yourself or maybe get some kind of support to improve your relationship with food.. Your life/body is the most important thing you have uwu

Eating disorders are psychological, not physiological. You don't have to be super skinny to have an eating disorder. Even people who are fat can have eating disorders. It might not be possible to diagnose a person like you with anorexia, but it might be "Eating disorder not otherwise specified" (EDNOS) which isn't much different. Here is some very basic EDNOS information: http://nedc.com.au/ednos

Even if you don't think you have an eating disorder, please see a doctor, a therapist or some kind of specialist to be sure. When it comes to mental health it's better to be safe than sorry. Even if you aren't diagnosed with anorexia or EDNOS these people can still give you peace of mind and tailored information about eating disorders so you can protect yourself in the future, so it's impossible for it to be a waste of time.

I plugged your numbers into a BMI calculator and it gave you a 19.8, which is on the skinny side of normal weight. If you're getting physically sick because you don't eat enough, you should eat more. If you're having issues understanding that, you should talk to a therapist.
