I'm not a fan of christmas

Well here's the thing: Christmas isn't my jam.

I like spending time with the people who I care about. It's just that Christmas isn't gothic and it's something that the normies overhype. Halloween is more like my Christmas. I'm a gothic person who is a fan of Halloween more than the "beloved holiday". Hell, I even tried to keep an open mind when browsing a Christmas store. I'm aware of the holidays origin and to which makes sense why it doesn't appeal to me.

To put it short: Christmas to me is just Valentine's day for single people who wish had a relationship. You know; sad, depressing, tight on the money, and comfort food to make me feel hella bloated. Halloween is tight on money too, but like childbirth; I get something good out of it (new house decor).

Well I dont like what the normies has turned a serious pagan holiday into aka Halloween which isn't even its real name.

Wtf are you on about? And what’s with the over use of “normie”? It’s not clever, it’s childish.

It's what I call people who are too mainstream.

I've never heard someone use the analogy of Christmas being Valentine's for single people - I always thought of Christmas as being all about family. Parents, husband/wife, kids, etc.

I never gave a shit about Christmas until I had kids. Now it's the best time of the year. You get to experience it all through their eyes. Brings some magic to it.

I love Halloween too. Before I had my family I think that Halloween was my favourite holiday. I love the whole creepy atmosphere. I'd much rather watch scary films than Christmas films. And I can see why you like decorating... Halloween decorations can be amazing if you get it right

Wasn’t Jesus actually born in March or something but they celebrate on 25th December to bring it into line with the pagan celebration for the winter solstice that people were already celebrating way before Christianity.

Paganism sounds pretty gothic, it fits in with the trend of desperately trying to feel unique and refusing to grow up that adults who still dress ‘goth’ follow.

Christmas, Chanukah, valentines day, thanksgiving, halloween, and easter are all the same. WAAAAY TOO commercialized. Those holidays have kinda lost their original values and become a big joke where big companies mass market their goods at sometimes reduced prices. CostCo was selling christmas trees, IN AUGUST, DURING A PANDEMIC. Like what?!?!

I used to be tired of Christmas. It always felt boring and like a waste of time.

Then I spent the holidays at my boyfriend's home. His family has pizza on Christmas Eve and on Christmas they have the leftovers for breakfast while exchanging gifts. I find it fun to partake in.

It's still a pain buying gifts for everyone, but it feels worth it in the end. XD

Yeah on holidays when everyone get together and you don't that makes you feel so much more alone. Or if you do but don't belong it doesn't help with either

All Christmas Carols will have the effect of getting under my skin by the time the season comes to a conclusion.

I'm not a fan of them myself even though I try to respect those who are religious.

As much as I want to like Christmas, I'm not a huge fan of it either. I love spending time with my family, but the entire holiday season is extremely stressful for me. For some reason, I've felt anxious and on edge towards the end of the year for about half of my life, so I don't like this time of year, anyway.

Then, there's the hustle and bustle that just overwhelms me. Hordes of people everywhere and seemingly always in a huge hurry and/or in a foul mood, bright lights, loud music, people forgetting how to drive, the awful weather (including snow and ice, which I absolutely cannot stand), etc. There really isn't much I like about fall or winter either one, but the holiday season is the most stressful of them all.

As far as Valentine's Day goes, I'm pretty indifferent about it. It doesn't depress me, but is way too mushy-gushy and a lot to do about nothing for me. Even when I was in a relationship, I didn't really care for it and thought it was pretty overblown.

Halloween is meh to me as well. I do enjoy passing out candy, but I don't dress up or anything like that.

I guess I'm not a big holiday person!
