I envy my boyfriend and his siblings because their dad is great. he treats me so well and puts a roof over my head. I never had a good father, I lived with him for 14 years and can't recall a good memory. Is it healthy to be so envious of people with good dads? Am I pathetic? IIN?
I would say it's normal to be jealous that you were deprived of that while growing up but now you should be grateful that you have him as a father figure in your life. And if this is a super serious boyfriend with a potential future together you should be happy that he has a good role model for a dad....great chance he will be a good dad too. : )
Ha I have friends who are really close with their parents, and friends who are best buddies with their siblings. I'm always very jealous. My dad wasn't good and is dead now, and I'm not close with my family. So I know how you feel :D
That being said, there are people I know who were kicked out by their useless parents, or treated extremely badly by their family, so even though I could've had it better, I could've had it so much worse. Be aware of what you've got over some people, you're probably luckier than you think :)
not pathetic... its your fathers fault, he wasn't loving enough and so hes left a huge chunk out of your child hood... so when you see others sharing a loving bond with their dad you understand how lucky they are and you also see what your farther never gave you...
thats not pathetic you are sad that you never had that, thank goodness you can see the difference
