Desperate to conform with whatever their parents want them to do in terms of education and career, and then to marry a woman their parents approve of.
Sexually pretty messed up, due to Indians having a Victorian - some might say Puritanical - attitude towards sex in public, while people get up to all sorts of shit in private (as was proved by the rapid spread of HIV). An awful lot of young Indian guys seem to become sexually obsessed with their aunties, and I've always suspected that was actually more about a repressed sexual fixation on their mothers.
I’ve heard Indian men characterized as, misogynistic, tech obsessed, smelly, and chain smokers. Of course all of these stereotypes are unfair, as I’ve met many Indian men who are none of the above.
Some of them have backwards mentality, they like to objectify women and many other stereotypes that I am sure still exists.
There’s the Facebook Indian men and stuff but those are more obvious now lol
with my experience I would say they are very thirsty and have no problem cat calling with no second thought another stigmatization of indian man is they are very hairy and for alot of women that is a big turn off
They always call me to tell me that there is a problem with my car insurance, or that my computer has a virus. XD
Are you from the Country India, or are you a Native American Indian?
Those are two completely different cultures; and to the best of my knowledge they have different stereotypes. Although, stereotypes are often incorrect when applied to individuals, even if they are not outdated.
did you know is actually offensive to native americans to call them indian. No bad intent just stating the facts
Actually, most of them prefer to be referred to by their tribe, but if you're going to refer to all of them collectively, most do prefer Indian. Mainly they just want white people to stop changing what they're called.
I'm actually half Native American and we go by the term Native American definitely not Indian. Indian to us means from India. A while ago the term Indian when used to describe native americans was considered derogatory much like the N word.
It depends on the area. I saw a video by a man who went to several reservations as research and found that most prefer the term Indian. I apologize if I've caused any offense, as that was not my intention and if you prefer the term Native American, then I'll respect that, but just know that it's not preferred universally. I'll link the video in case you want to watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh88fVP2FWQ
