My wife and me been married 45 years. We both retired 4 years ago. We had a good marriage, raised 4 kids. Got grand kids now. The thing of it is this old lady bugging me to hell since I retired. I like going places during the day. In the afternoons I go shoot the breeze with the fellows at our local bar. Toss a few brewskis, you know? She wants me to stay around the house, work around the yard. She wants to keep an eye on me. Is this normal? This is a boring post, I know. But do all retired guys go through this prison shit?

    Your wife needs a hobby or a new routine of her own. She probably doesn't know where to start, and may not have friends she's close enough to her that she wants to hang out with, so she's relying on you to fill that void.

    I have three suggestions: One, talk to her about how you're feeling, and listen to how she feels. Two, help her find a hobby that would get her out the house and off making friends (perhaps Bingo). Three, dedicate three or more days (your choice) to her and all the boring shit she wants to do with you; this way she'll leave you alone on the other days.

    Drink less and love more. If the guys are than important to you u need to compromise with your wife. Otherwise love trumps all, but i get it. Who wants to be bossed around all day, your a grown man. As i said compromise. tell her that you need some time to decompress once in the while, but whenever she wants to be with you, you're hers.

    Ummmm,yeah you should be busy doing stuff around the house,even cook and clean as well,just coz you retired doesn't mean you don't have to keep the chores up
