I'm happy with my life, but i'm not afraid to die
I used to be Catholic. Now I'm an athiest and while I'm married, happy and creative, I'm not the least bit afraid to die. Is this normal?

yes i feel the same. Im going to be a dork and quote Dumbledore to you "To the well educated mind death is but the next great adventure" and that is how i feel.
Religious people are more afraid to die than anyone else, thus clinging to their belief in an afterlife.
It makes sense not to fear something that you can't avoid, does it not? :) so many people would be happier if they accepted their deaths.
Only people who truely believe in god aren't afraid to die? Lol I could have sworn the poster said he/she wasn't afraid to die and he's atheist. Or did I read it wrong? I know more atheists that aren't afraid of dying than religious people who are. Religion puts fear in you.
I toy with being afraid of death. As an Atheist also it is scary to think that when you die that's it. But at the same time what's the point in fearing the inevitability?
Only people who really believe in God aren't afraid of death. So its normal...and please people try to stop posting storys with no point.
I don't believe in god nor heaver or hell, and i have kind of the same feeling as the author... you shouldn't generalize.
i have a faith tho.
good luck :)
Religion is for people who believe in an afterlife. I don't, and I'm not afraid to die.
I find that first comment incredibly offensive. I'm agnostic, and while I am afraid to die, I think it may be healthy and normal to not be afraid of death.
Just because you don't believe there is anything after you die doesn't mean that you want to die, there is a great difference.
It probably has to do more with depression than any theological beliefs anyhow.
