I'm gay but i wish homophobia was still widespread

Now, let me say that I definitely wouldn't like to be murdered or beaten for my sexuality, but I feel like having gay affairs back then was much more thrilling and fun because it was such a big taboo and you had to be very careful to not have anyone find out. Like in Brokeback Mountain, they had to go to the mountains to have sex, or even kiss, which now you can do in public and won't get a reaction in most cases. I should add I find straight couples very boring and wouldn't wish being stuck in a long straight marriage on my worst enemy, because most straight couples seem very depressing to me. But now, gay couples are turning into straight couples with the marriage rights and adoption and the general normalization and everything. I would never want that for myself. I want the old world of secret affairs and guessing games back.
