I'm french and i prefer american women. is this normal?

I'm a French man currently living in the United States and I have often heard of Americans talking about how beautiful French women are. I am often shocked at how many "How To Be Like A French woman" books are being sold in this country. It seems that many Americans, (and American women specifically) are in awe of them. So does it sound strange that I actually find American women to be far more attractive? American women just seem to posses many qualities that I prefer in a woman. They have much better attitudes, big, bright smiles, and curvaceous bodies. (I find that most French women are lacking in the upper region category). So what do you all think? I know it may seem strange, but I think it is American women who really posses that je ne sais quoi quality that men love. :)

  • I am mainly in awe of the language I could listen to them speak all day. There is just something so soothing and sensual about it.

Votre français est très bon. :)

For what its worth, an American woman doesn't need to speak French to be attractive. Their pleasant attitudes are more than enough. Perhaps American women can try and teach some of our French women a few things in that regard. :)

I haven't had any interactions with french ladies before so I don't have a clue how they behave. Where are you have you ever had any dealings with southern woman in the states?? ha

Oh, I forgot about Google Translate. :) I just recently came to New York, but before that I lived in South Carolina so yes, I have had plenty of dealings with American Southern women, and I have to be honest; of all the American women I have ever met, Southern women were my favorite. One thing I noticed right away is that they smile quite often there. I like that. This in contrast to the average French woman who always seems to have a frown on her face! Another difference is that many Southern women (and Southern people in general) seem to have a great knowledge of guns. I must admit that I was not used to seeing something like that in France, but at the same time, I must admit its also quite intriguing! :)

I'm American, but I have quite a few French family members, and I've traveled there...beautiful country. People here merely want to emulate French women because they get to eat cheese sautéed in butter and covered with fancy chocolate and cream sauce whilst still looking waifish in their $300 lace lingerie and cashmere like fucking bosses.

To answer your question, yes, it's totally normal. As much as I'd like to believe that cultural stereotypes are a bunch of nonsense, there is some inherent truth to them...and certain cultures lend themselves to personality traits and physical characteristics that you might find appealing.

I, for one, get a special feeling down under for Australian men, so I feel ya, op.

I agree. There is some truth to them. (Even if we know it doesn't apply to everyone, of course.) While I can understand why some might find the stereotypes of French women to be appealing, (as you explained in your post), I personally find the down to earth attitude of American women to be far more attractive. Being nice and pleasant beats looking good in fancy lingerie any day for me. (Not that American women wouldn't look good in fancy lingerie. Far from it!) :)

You seem to be attracted to wonderful qualities in women, regardless of their cultural background, and if you find those qualities more present in one culture than another, then so be it. It seems as if you have great priorities in what you search for in a mate, and I wish you good luck in finding the sexy American woman of your dreams!

        : )

Hopefully you can make her dinner...I've never had better food than I had in France!

Oh yes, I can cook. And I definitely intend to make my future American wife quite happy in that regard! Thank you for the support. :)

I prefer women of African decent. My desire harkens back to the days of slavery when women were completely submissive to their owners. This is what is lacking in the so-called "African" American women of today.

Well, that's extremely racist... Also, those women were not "completely submissive." If you had any knowledge of U.S. history, you would know how many slave rebellions there were. No one particularly enjoys being an authentic slave, especially not to people like you.

They say the grass is always greener on the other side. On the upside, French accents are amazing and you probably won't have trouble catching an American girl.

Merci pour votre commentaire.:) I agree about the grass being greener and such, but I think there is also an element of truth to it. Maybe its because my interaction with American women has been so positive? I love their positive attitudes. :)

I have tried to categorize people too but it never holds up to be true...there is beauty, ugly, sexy, whatever in all cultures although yes we have our preferences when it comes to attraction....but I could meet someone who is my ideal and not like them and vice versa

Good points. Maybe I'm simply biased towards then due to my good experiences with them? American women seem more optimistic towards life than French girls overall.
