I'm extremely optimistic at night

I've found that for some reason i am at my happiest and most energetic in the dead of night. specifically past midnight. Most mornings i wake up negative, sometimes even outright pissed off (they say waking up mad is impossible) I'm also extremely lazy when i wake up in the bright hours generally sitting on the couch all day if im not working or don't have plans and pretty much killing time until it hits 12am, then i got crazy getting things done and making plans. I don't know why i'm like this, is it normal to have such a contrasting day pattern?

    • I'm beginning to think that as well. Its a shame, i have to sleep. I could be up all night just doing things. Albeit I'd pass out once daytime hits.

I'm pretty sure that I'm a night owl myself. I prefer humidity so despite my fears of leaving this Earthly purgatory known as Las Vegas I really do despise hot, dry air. I find myself beyond annoyed when people like my mother, and sister tell me that I ought to run errands in daylight for so called safety reasons. When I went out to run errands this evening in the darkness with temperatures in the upper 30's it felt like an embrace in a blanket of cool and calm despite my ever ever present anxiety. In the oppressive summer months I find myself longing to be held the arm's winter's night.

I was raised in Houston, Texas and spent my early adulthood in the Deep South and even then I had a deep affection for the night.

Same with me, it feels abnormal because I don't feel in sync with my daily obligations...like I have to drag ass to get anything done and Im not 'feeling it' and just do it auto-pilot or put it off if I can.....then start getting productive when everyones sleeping but than I feel like I gotta keep it down which annoys me

    • Yeah its almost like most of the day i'm just burning time until everyone is asleep and then i can get some work done, though oddly i don't seem to get anything done when i'm alone at home and its daytime.

Yessss its so easy to burn time during the day cause the daylight is an illusion it feels like its gonna stay light out all day haha then when I realize its getting dark out I start to panick and scramble to get stuff done!

    Hello Jim,
You know the day destroys the night
    Night divides the day
    Tried to run
    Tried to hide
Break on through to the other side
