I'm a Christian, who believes and worships God, but I really like Marilyn Manson's music, especially the 'Fight Song' one. Is this normal?
In my opinion, it is fine. He is an amazing and intelligent human being. I love Manson and I'm also a Christian. God made us to like the things we like, so if He made me to like Manson, gore, and other similar things why would he tell me I can't have anything to do with them. It's kind of like giving a starving person some hay and a nice juicy steak, but then telling him he can't eat the steak, So why give it to him in the first place?
I don't know, I'm just rambling and I don't know if you even understood what I said. That's my opinion though.
Ok. Rather than label myself as a Christian I am going to tell you that three years ago my eyes were opened to the truth of God's word and I gave my life over to Christ. I'm going to disregard all of the lies satan has thrown at you such as there is no God or that your ok as long as you are a good person. I'm also going to assume that you have an relationship with Jesus that many of these who have commented just simply don't understand. If the Holy Spirit TRULY lives within you then he will convict you when you sin against him. With that said, I believe that you were convicted about the type of music you listen to and instead of turning to God, you turned to the world, which we do all too often. I believe that if you ask God for his guidance and understand in prayer then sit down with you bible and study, he will reveal the truth to you. But I will remind you of a scripture, Philippians 4:8 - "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable%%u2014if anything is excellent or praiseworthy%%u2014think about such things." Does MM's music align with this scripture?

Some of the finest people in the world that I have met are people who follow the actual teachings of Christ. Most of the worst people I have met are people who pervert his teachings and use it as a simple list to tell them who they should hate.
Read the new testimate, paying special attention to the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 25) and come to your own conclusions. NEVER let anyone tell you what is in that book without having read it yourself as that inspires hatred, bigotry, and spiritual emptiness.
Also, for extra bonus credit, read the teachings of Jesus and find find out what He personally says about the issues. For example, find what he says about homosexuality. Once you have done so, make your decision on those issues also.
When asked his opinion on Christianity, Ghandi said "Oh! It is a lovely religion! Too bad nobody practices it!"
Read the book and be one of the people who does!
I think in a world with narcotics, drunks, robbers, rapists, murderers, lawyers, theifs, etc. claiming their Christian, the last thing God would worry about is whether or not you listen to MM.
I'm a Christian, but if your not a Christian you shouldnt be listening to Mailyn Manson, hes terrible and a bit f*cked up.
Marilyn Manson is amazing and I adore him.
I don't necessarily agree with everything he's done, but I respect him, because he has the intelligence to back up the strange shit he does, which is more then most people can even attempt.

He even has a shirt that says 'against all gods' on the sleeve.

Look at it like this.Marylin Manson as a band are very talented.The people who take their lyrics literally may have issues.This band is no different in my opinion then Alice Cooper,Ozzy Osbourne,Iron Maiden,all misunderstood but also allot richer then most of us.Its all about the money.Musical talent is an individual gift whatever it may be.I am sure back in the day their were people who said the same thing about Mozart.By the way ,he is very talented also.
I worship and pray to the Great White Rodent but listen to such tracks as Highway To Hell by AC/DC.
You need to stick with your music but offload the Christian stuff and turn to the Great White Rodent.
In my experiance, I find that Christians are often the most unchristian people. (except my local vicar, but he's probabely a peado.)

So just because you read something in his book that you don't agree with you want him to die? Come on now, let's grow up a little. And so what if the things he mentions are kind of gay, no one said u had to like it. And if Marilyn Manson is so gay why did you even pick up his book? I don't like Justin bieber so therefore, I'm not gonna go out and see his movie. If you don't like it, don't pursue it. Was that so hard to figure out?
its fine, I'm a Christian and listen to all types of music, read dark poetry and watch horror movies. Some Christian just take this stuff to seriously, its normal, trust me

It's normal. Really. If you have watched the movie religulous you would know that many religous people are not as faithful to their religion, okay? Religion is complete bullshit. Just don't worry about it.
When christians are nice they do it because they believe god will judge them for their actions. When atheists are nice they are doing it because they personally want to be. Think about that.

No I would say it is not normal however I do not believe that you are doing anything wrong - Marilyn Manson and many other musicians like him do write songs with disturbing lyrics and I personally think Marilyn Manson is disturbed however as long as you don't start turning from God to worship Marilyn Manson or start getting heavily involved with the more unsavoury things to come out of such music I don't see anything wrong with it.
No doubt you believe God loves you and you also believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again on the third day (which if I understand correctly is the central belief for Christians?) therefore He is not going to condemn you for your choice of music!

Actually Manson isn't as bat shit nuts as you would think. Him being a hypocrit in a lot of what he says and does is part of his message to the world. He believes in absolute self gratification and that people should be able to do as they please. Also people you really can't say the man is an idiot. He got the respect of an entire organization dedicated to being self gratifying bastards I.E. the church of satan which surprisingly doesn't actually worship satan ( they believe in freedom for themselves and being as much a of a greedy bastard that they can be in life) and he also has a few college degrees. I don't mean honorary degree I mean actual I went to college did the work and got a degree.
As long as you realize what you're listening to is bad, then you have nothing to worry about.

We can't help the way we are and what we feel and what we like...we're just born this way. So he should love us for who we are no matter what.
Totally normal. Religion shouldn't effect what music you listen to. MM makes some good songs, and it's not a bad thing that you like them
