I'm apparently asexual.

Ok so I am currently 24 years of age, and I do not have a girl/boy/animal (shudder) friend. I am just fine with that, but as of recently I have begun to wonder if something was a little tweaked in my head? I am not sexually attracted to anything at all. And I'm 24. And I'm a male human being.

Notice I said "sexually" attracted. I still love people, I just don't involve romance or sex.

Fuck sex it ruins everything. Do you find people attractive? Not sexually but can you say someone is pretty?

There IS such a thing as asexuality where people just don't experience any sexual desire. If Wikipedia is to be trusted, about 4%% of all males are asexual. I am 29 and I have never been in a relationship before, I am starting to think that I am like that too. I like girls and being around them and I admire their beauty, but I rarely have the wish to have a relationship with them or to sleep with them.

But as said before, as long as you're happy, why not?

Count yourself as lucky...as long as you dont mess around and get someone pregnant. None of the BS to worry about just because your penis needs a woman. I swear 99%% of men are attracted to women for sex and they [we] pay the price, the nagging, complaining, drama, bitching, moaning, drama, and don't mess around and get someone pregnant...did I say drama?

Being asexual means you are free from all the burdens that a mans cock puts him through.

    Count your blessings.

There is nothing abnormal about you. That's just how you're wired and it's a blessing! It means you can focus more clearer than most people who act like their in heat 24/7. All your energy and passion can be directed to what you want to do in life. Be it in the arts or business.

And screw nature, Jesus himself was asexual. So he's got your back on this as well!

You're normal. I thought I was asexual at one point, but maybe not.
You should get checked by a doctor just in case, too. A lack of sexual desire and libido could be explained by other causes.

Perhaps this is how most people are, but most people are too scared to admit it, because they're too concerned with trying to be normal.

Well, I am a 24 female. I have never had the urge to date and I have yet to find the urge to go out and have sex with someone. So if your asexual than so am I. From what I watched on a special report thing there are lots of asexual people out there. They still get married to people they deem acceptable companions and they even desire to have kids but they are not interested in sex. So I think I am asexual. Do some research on it all like I did and see if you fit the bill! Good luck.

From a guy your age I gotta say, I find it a little strange that you have no desire whatsoever for sexual activity, whether with a woman or man. But as long as your happy and ok with it, why worry?

It sounds like you are asexual. Unlike what some people say, asexuality is possible as asexuals still have kids or have sex as a 'compromise'. As an asexual myself I know what its like to not choose to not be sexually attracted to people. Check out www.asexuality.org to ask further questions and to get any support

I've struggled for years trying to come to terms with having no interest in sexual relations with other people. I have had sexual relationships with men and women in order to fit in or find myself which is easy to do when you seem always to be viewed by others in a sexual way. I never felt involved and would only have very quick sex so that it was over and done with and I could get on with something I enjoyed doing...even the housework came higher on the list. It's harder for others to understand asexuality when they judge from inside themselves!

it's not wierd at all well maybe to bc it goes against the norm but i have found that there are a lot of people like that as well. I am like that too . I don't really get "turned on" or get psychicaly attracted to men or women for that matter. and I am ok with that.

Asexuality is legitimate. Whatever the reason is, it happens. If you're fine with it, and don't feel a void, then don't do anything about it. There are a lot of asexuals out there who are perfectly happy without sex, and that's fine! HOWEVER, if you wish to have the desire (even though it's a foreign concept to you!), then go to a doctor and see if taking testosterone can help boost your sex drive.

I think this is more common than people realise. Some people just don't feel the need or desire for a sexual relationship

  • okay people this is highly improbable, since evolution would make asexuality in humans extinct long ago. No reproduction, no genes passed to future generations. Just like there are very few "pure" gay girls/guys. Your saying that if a gorgeous girl would take off her cloth in front of you and started playing with herself, orgasming left and right you would of had no reaction whatsoever? Somehow I think you have either psychological or physiological issues. Maybe fear of getting rejected, intimacy, performance or very low testosterone. Go see a doctor, cause this sounds just like an excuse.
