I'm always the one who...

I'm usually the one in my friends group who makes the plans and rallies everyone together. I've always sort of been a "planner." Lately, I'm getting really sick of it. My friend group is awesome, we've all been friends since elementary, but I wish someone else would make an effort. Is this normal? What should I do? I'm almost tempted to stop making plans and see how long it takes for someone else to step up.

My friend is like this, lol she always sounds like you but we still don't change it. But we do secretly appreciate it!! After reading this, I think I'll tell her more lol. Cause I hate planning, she's good at it. And you probably are too:)

Lol, thank you. I'm just a planner. Always have been. But yes, tell your friend you appreciate her doing that!

I'm the organiser in my group too. If I don't do it, it doesn't get done. I sometimes wish somebody else would shoulder the burden, but they're either lazy, unwilling or unable. I don't know which it is.

Mainly, though, I've come to see it as a positive thing. Organisationally, I'm very "together" and things always get done properly. We never end up stranded anywhere because of a mix-up with train tickets and everybody always gets a hotel room and gets where they need to be on time. Plus, I get to make the choices. I'm considerate enough of people that everyone ends up happy. If other people made the plans, there would be complaints.

I'm the exact same. My friends are really important to me so I guess if we want to all stay in touch I'm going to have to suck it up and fall into my planner roll.

Maybe you should stop making plans to see if they even try to stay together. That's what splashy meant. Since you're always the one who's making plans and whatnot, you're most likely the reason why you call each other friends.
