I'm afraid to say "thank you" becuase i don't like "you're welcome"

When someone does something good for me, I really want to say thank you. However, for some reason, I don't like the words "you're welcome". Because of this, I keep avoiding saying "thank you", or say it quickly and then move on (ex. "Thank you, anyways how's the weather?"). It's not exactly a fear, but I just don't like people saying "you're welcome" in response to my thanks. Is this normal?

You could say it in different words to disrupt the pattern. Like say it in another language (e.g. gracias), or something like "I appreciate it".

Why in the world do you have a problem with someone saying, "You're welcome?" That phrase is just a confirmation to your "Thanks!" For answering this question, you're very much welcome!

So true! We are all programmed differently and some habits and things annoy some, while others could care less about it!
