I'm afraid of singing, no, seriously...what the frick??!!

Here's the thing....
I myself think I have a pretty good voice, deep down inside, yet shutter when someone asks me to sing, a select few people have gotten to the point of harassing me to get up and sing karaoke, but it's not just stage fright, sh*t, there's way worse singers who are out at the pool hall/bar on the weekends, or even when it's dead during the week, yet I have huge fears, not stage fright though.

I could (and have) give speeches to 100+ people at a time, just as long as I don't run out of things to say, yet the people who HAVE heard my voice absolutely love it, and I'm pretty sure no glasses will break and no anyuerisms will occur if I were to open up and let it belt outta me, so what the hell....is this normal??!!

It's totally normal! I'm the same lol. My nickname is motormouth and I hardly even get nervous talking in front of huge crowds. I mean, I did an Anzac speech in front of like 2/3 of my town! But as soon as someone asks me to sing I won't unless someone else sings with me :)

It's normal. Practice singing in the shower at first. Then, practice singing through a microphone so that you can build confidence. Plus, something special happens when there's a mic in your hand. All of a sudden you become (insert favorite singer's name here). Oh, and don't be afraid to really belt it out. once you know your actual range, you will have so much more confidence because you will know your limits. Also, drink plenty of water before practicing and maybe some hot tea. Oh, and drink a couple of beers (just a couple!!!). That will definitely make things easier for you. i used to be terrified to sing karaoke (although I have sung and played several instruments for bands in local bars and clubs). For some reason, karaoke is the scariest experience because you are all alone--you don't even have a band to back you up. What helped me to get over my fears of karaoke? Truly--a couple beers. Dude, it works.

Does not matter if you have stage fright or not, it may seem your self confidence is not as great as maybe you thought, you don't want people to tell you that your rubbish or bad because it would break you, generally people who feel they are good at something do not want their hopes, dreams and such stuff shattered. It takes a little bit of confidence, do it once and you'll never fear it again. Well that is my own personal exprien
