I'm afraid of finding shiny pokemon but i love shiny hunting

So I have this really dumb fear of encountering a shiny pokemon. It really bugs me and ruins my game. I get irrational fears like this ALL THE TIME and I'm just fed up. Is it normal?

    As someone who plays Pokémon and has a few Shinys, I can honestly say that I don't see why they're a big deal to a lot of people.
