I'm afraid of dark water...

I get creeped out by going in pools or the ocean if the water is dark. If its night and I am under the water in a pool and i can't see clearly to the other side I freak out. Same thing happens with deep ocean water. The wierdest part is if I look at a cola bottle and imagine being stranded in an ocean made of nothing but dark black cola it freaks me out a little too...now I know thats wierd, but does anyone get fears about water?

    It's normal...for me. Do you ever get freaked out just looking at a map? I mean like Google Earth at the ocean parts where you can see it all including the fault lines? That gets me like crazy.

      omg i hate looking on google earth! everything from when the picture zooms in, to the freaky angles.

      Looking at the oceon on google maps is so scary. 0_0 My family just look at me wierd when I tell them that :/

    Watch the Japanese movie "Dark Water". You'll still be shit scared of dark water, but at least then you can tell yourself it's only because of that movie.

    lol, when you say "trapped... in coke" like that it makes me sound pretty crazy...heeee. And the amazon river has far worse things in it than dark water, but yes....I would never do that, either.

    I think ALMOST everyone is at least a little afraid of creepy dark water. I have never imagined myself trapped...in coke...but dark water that you can't see through is definitely scary.

    I thought it was just me!! I'm completely scared of open or dark water. The only thing is, is that I think I know what caused my fear.
    My dad let me watch him play duke nukem when I was very little (irresponisble, I know! XP) and there was a lot of swimming in huge spaces of dark water involved in that game (and a lot of sharks and what are called Octabrains. Since then either in games or real life, I've been petrified of going near dark chasms, spaces or water, I literally have a panic attack XP

    The thought of not being able to see something that can see you is the main source of fear. Also, fear of the unknown.
    I have this also. Only instead of what you said about coca-cola, I have it with milk - I find the fact that it's white and opaque unnerving.

    Its a normal human survival reaction - its not clever to jump into deep dark water that you can't see the bottom of or whats in there. Humans have evolved this fear through natural selection.

    yeah i am scared of the dark so if im in a pool i imagine snakes and gators and sharks are gonna get me lol this is normal lol

    When i was younger my friends and i were in a hot tub on her back porch and the light went off ...it was completely dark and for some reason my mind went into the water was lke blood and someone was in it dead or something. idk y. i was like 8 and it has ruined my entire NIGHT WATER experince. Funny you said "dark water" because thats how i percieved it then.
    Did you have an experience? or our you just paranoid?
