I'm a 30yo Straight male and when I go to the beach, river or pool my swimwear of choice is a speedo style swimsuit, (I dont like to wear shorts while swimming) do you think thats normal?
In my experience the people who don't want to see a speedo are the over weight self conscious hairy folks. It's odd that woman can wear nothing at all and it's fine. And a good looking guy can't wear what's comfortable. All those knee length board shorts are so uncomfortable and hope the fashion industry shuts that down quick. If you google men's swimsuit styles the top ten sights all won't even sell board shorts anymore. Just mid thigh leach shorts or square cut.
For years, I've worn mesh gym short in the ocean. This year, I quickly grew tired of my shorts being baggy and needing adjustment each time a wave came. I don't like board shorts - way too much material.
Even though there is a stigma about Speedos for guys, I bought a few new swim briefs this year to wear in the ocean. They feel awesome! The water temp is in the mid 70s, and I hung out in the surf for hours this weekend. The cool thing is that I saw several other guys sporting Speedos today. I'd like to see more guys ditch the board shorts and wear a Speedo at the beach.
you can do whatever you want. if you have the balls to wear a skin tight bathing suit in public, then good for you. but you don't need a forum or poll to tell you if it's normal. just take a look at what the other guys around you are wearing and you'll see if it's normal or not.
is it normal? id say no. is it ok to do? of course! especially if you have the body to back it up.
