I'm a fan of michael jackson but other mj fans annoy me

To be honest, I LOVE Michael Jackson's music. I have many songs of his on my computer and I find him to have been one of the best singers and dancers of all time. However, I find the behaviour of many of his fans repulsive and annoying. Everytime some other artist covers MJ or is shown doing a duet or something with him, MJ fans swarm the page and start leaving hate comments against him/her. For example, with the new songs involving Michael Jackson ft. Justin Timberlake, MJ fans will immediately take to bashing the other artist as if he/she is tone-deaf. Granted, Michael Jackson is the god of pop music, but it doesn't mean that other singers can't be good.

Anyways, is it normal to be an MJ fan but to find many other MJ fans obnoxious?

    I think that it is their obsession that is annoying. MJ is a great singer and a great dancer. I don't think that anyone alive has his talent.

    There are always cliques of obsessive fans consisting of irrational, irritating people.

    They come together, mob mentality, bonded by their mutual love of something, and do their best to 'preserve and defend the honour' of whatever the hell it is they're obsessed with. They take a weird kind of pride and ownership in their obsession.

    You're a normal fan. You love Michael Jackson's music, but in the way a rationally-minded person does. The people you're encountering are terrifying super-fans who probably have underlying mental health problems.

    So your feelings of annoyance are absolutely normal :)

    Kind of like how I feel about My Chemical Romance. Love the band but I couldn't care less if a giant meteor fell from the sky only destroying all of their annoying, whiny fans.
