I'm a bit chubby, but also athletic

Ok, so I am 5'11 and weigh 202 pounds ( no, it's not all muscle) and I appear a bit fat. But when I run, I can go fast and for a long time-2 miles without slowing down. It's really annoying when people look at me and say I'm not athletic. Is this normal?

Are you a guy? If so your definitley not fat... But this also depends on how much muscle you have. I am also 5'11 but I'm a girl and I weigh 140 pounds so for a guy I would say your weight is totally normal.

It's not normal for you to weigh that much but still be in good athletic shape. And sadly its totally normal for ppl to assume things they don't know and judge ppl by how they look. It's also not right and therfor totally normal that it annoys you. I hope you prove those douches wrong and show em' what your made of.

People tend to understimate the fitness of people whose muscles are covered by fat, partially because it is harder to guess how much muscle they have, and partially because the additional weight means that much more effort that they must expend to do the same task. They take longer to speed up and slow down, but mostly people just inherently tend to understimate the abilities and worth of chubby people in general, regardless of the reasons.

Were you to lost weight you would be in even better shape, and you would do less damage to yourself health-wise (running on a hefty frame is not kind to the knees), but it sounds like you are in better shape than your skinny-fat friends (aka people with no physique or fitness to speak of, but also no blankets of extra fat).

You may be athletic, but you're still overweight. Change your diet. Look into *low-carbohydrate* nutrition.

have you seen the movie "troy" with brad pitt? well, there's this move he does where he leaps into the air to the right of the opponent then stabs down at a 45 degree angle into their neck with his sword, it's a one hit kill basically

anyway, my point is, the next time someone says you're not athletic, do that brad pitt move on them, but don't stab them with a sword, instead, use... ummm... something harmless... like... err... a... a banana

    DO IT!!!!!

ps. don't blame me if you get sent to a mental instituation for actually doing it, you have no one to blame but yourself

being fit has nothing to do with the shape or size of your body. i have the same problem. i am 5'3 and 140 lbs. im what people would call "thick" but i can work out harder, faster, and stronger then almost anyone i know. just make sure you eat semi healthy and keep up a good excersise routine. basically, just because your not skinny or a toothpick it does not mean your not in shape
