I'm a 39 yr old lead singing frontman

is it normal for me to play/cater for the 20 something crowd still?

I look like I'm 20 something still and our band is very popular, but sometimes I think I'm too old and should find another gig?

What do you think?

wow thats really weird that a musician would be uncomfortable with a younger crowd enjoying their music. if every band thought like that then no one would play because there will always be people older and younger liking different music. obviously its not about the music for you, maybe you should look for a different profession.

Be glad you have a following of supporters that enables you to do what you love! Sure beats the hell out of working some place that you loathe for minimum wage ;).
Oh, and for the record (pointed toward the commentee who brought them up), Hanson is still very successful with their own independent label, has fans of every age, sells out venues, tours the world, has made a huge impact working with TOMS shoes and other charities for those less fortunate than us. They are the nicest guys I have ever met, writes songs that doesn't need to be censored, or about drugs, sex, blood or alcohol, respects women and wears their pants where they're supposed to be. All while they're THIRTY years old and younger and raising their own families.. Being asked if you're Hanson is quite the compliment =^^=

  • no man I know a few guys that are still killing it in the hardcore scene. I think the guy from Trial is in his late 30's and this guy floppy matt is like in his late 30's to 40's but he plays shows all the time.
