I'm 20 years old and i sweat a lot in my sleep?

I wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, especially my legs. I'm covered in sweat EVERYWHERE after only three to four hours of sleep. This has been happening the past couple of years or so. Sometimes I sweat so much (this happens year round) that I can't go more than a week using the same blanket because it will start to smell absolutely RANCID.

Is this normal?

Are you taking any prescription medications that have the side effect of increased sweating? A lot if psychiatric medications have those sort of side effects.

Hyperhidrosis could be to blame... although I don't know why it would just happen while you sleep. It's a condition some people develope where your sweat glans overwork themselves, even when you aren't hot.
Have you mentioned the sweating to your doctor?

I started getting hot flashes and panic attacks at night at 30. It might be hormone related or very early menopause. It does suck.

Yes, this happens to a lot of people. There are a lot of reasons this may be occurring, you may want to ask your physician if it is really bothering you as well as happens often. It may be sign of an underlying infection in your body, and if the infection is handled, the sweating will quit.
