I'm 24 and never been in love. is this normal?

I've lived a quarter of my life and have never been in love. Sure, I've had crushes on both celebrities and people in real life, but they never lasted and it was mostly one-sided.

I'm starting to think there is something wrong with me. I've never felt that deep connection or that 'spark' with anyone. I'm not too bothered about it though, to be honest. My mother is this way as well. She says she has never felt passionately for anyone in her entire life. Maybe it's genetic?

    Anyways... lol

I believe you just haven't found the 'right one.' Nevertheless, I would think it's normal.

I think you have never got close enough to someone to experience it. But dont worry you not alone out there. =)

Have you ever actually had a serious relationship? Cos I haven't..I've always gone on dates but never actually been in love with them. I think once you enter into something serious, love will grow over time, at least that's what I've noticed from friends. It's not a spur of the moment kinda thing, but builds up over time & it takes a lot of work.

  • Maybe it is just growing up - but don't let your ideas about mom or genetics rob you of the possibility of real romance and love. Its a different stage beyond the crushing stuff. Mature relationships take time and work and pay back hugely.
