I'm a 20 year old (male) college student and thoughout my whole life, I have only had a few female friends. I don't have a problem talking to girls as I am around them frequently at work and at school, however I never hang out with girls outside of work or school. And no, I am not gay and have had one girlfriend before. So, Am I normal? and for the girls, do you have many male friends??

    Yes its deff normal. Girls they tend to be more social then guys do, as you prob notice before girls tend to gossip more then guys do.

    Unless you're gay, you SHOULDN'T have that many female friends. Some of the opposite sex is normal for everyone. And when you get into a relationship, it is totally inappropriate to have many- or close, opposite sex friends. Things can happen, dynamics are different, and the significant other will likely feel uncomfortable.

    I'm also guessing you do not have sisters- or at least any near your age, or you WOULD feel easier around women. Just to let you know, we don't like 'girls' [emo men], so good for you. Keep being a guy.

    Do you want more girl friends? Do you seriously think you would be looked at as "gay" for not having enough? Sorry - I'm not quite getting the question. There is no standard or correct ratio of boy to girl friends one should have.

    nah dude you're that weird little creepy guy who hangs around corners, reading his scifi books and glancing at the girls..... how is anyone supposed to know who you are except for you yourself?

    And not having any female friends (while it makes you look less attractive in the eyes of women) comes with some major advantages. For instance you don't have to be the pathetic male girlfriend to her, the guy who she'll come whining to about everything.

    and like the first poster said, girls tend to find strong attractive/intelligent guy friends and use them as proof of their level on the social ladder. so you're completely normal man, it's not that weird.

      I disagree. A friend is a friend, regardless of sex. You can't define friendship; friendship is an experience far beyond what can be synthesized.

      LOL... I'm definitely not the creepy weird guy reading sci fi books, but thanks for the rest of your input. I'm far from being a nerd, hell I've never even read a book from front to back before.

    iTs normal u just gota chill more with ur boys and theyll introduce u to mad girls u kno? i was very shy in my freshman year in high school i started hanging out with every1 thats how i got arond the girls
