Fuck China for stealing our technology for decades! I'm glad someone's finally standing up to them.

Idk what exactly you mean, but to my knowledge they haven't stolen anything. Science and ideas should be and mostly are free to use and replicate.
That being said, I don't really like the country of China from what I've heard and seen of it- communism, rude people, animal cruelty, 1B+ population, and pollution.
As for how the situation personally affects me, their mass output of cheap products is a mixed bag. It's convenient for things that don't really need to be high quality, like little plastic items.
But it's bad for things that I need to last and function under heavy use, like electronics and farm equipment. You get what you pay for from them, though, so they're not cheating you.
I guess I like the idea of standing up to them, within reason. Seriously straining relations doesn't seem like a good idea. America needs to get out of debt to China, and become more independent of its goods.
China is known for not respecting copyright laws leading to many companies in China blatantly passing things off as their own when they don't own the rights to the intellectual property or haven't made a licensing agreement with the company who does own the rights. It's a big problem in electronics especially when it is stupidly easy to buy the Chinese knockoff versions for a fraction of the price.
Sure you can say the Chinese knockoff are going to be worse and you get what you pay for, but when it comes to things like electronics it's not that big of a difference. An iPhone X costs about $400 to make, but sells for $1000 retail. Even if you spend the full $400 to make an iPhone you can sell it for less than $1000 and still make a good profit because it costs you a fraction of what it costs Apple in research and development because you are just coping a finished product.
Hes right about the stolen technology part. You would think that as smart as the chinese are they wouldnt need to steal so much from other countries but they do.
Some technologies are considered national secrets and at times intellectual property.
It's more efficent to steal ideas than to come up with it yourself. Logical motive doesnt mean I dont hate it though. Still I'm 100% sure we have also been stealing any kind of data they get so it balances out. Probably we already have a countermeasure towards hypersonic missiles and we are just being quiet about it not to tip our hand.
It's not a stereotype if it's an observation of what I've seen. The few chinese I've met were really intelligent.
Damn now if I wana by a new phone is gonna costo me more thanks to dumbass trump....I mean donald trump...thanks a lot fucker.
Just purchased a Pressure washer with a honda motor. Ended up being a crappy chinese honda clone. Got my money back!
Something many people dont get is that a trade war hurts us almost as much as them and could lead the world into a recession or even depression.
I work in the oil industry and I've been seeing the effects of his threats toward china of more tariffs for a few days. Oil prices shot down on thursday which caused one oil company to lay off 33% of its workers. In the days since I've only worked 1.5 hours and usually work 16 per day.
If china goes back to buying iranian oil, or puts a tariff on us oil imports, the price of oil will drop so low that I wont have a job.
His ideas are right in that we need fairer trade deals with china, but his bull headed tactics to achieve this are hurting a lot of people. Tariffs are doing nothing but harm.
If things dont change for the oil industry soon, trump will lose the vote of the majority of oil workers and likely wont get re-elected.
America can survive a recession, China cant not anymore because of the simple fact that China had upgraded it's normal standards of living. People don't like to back slide into the past and that will cause a massive uproar in the already oppressed civilian sector that no doubt that we are agitating to out fullest extent.
Trumps going to get re elected if the dems grab a dumb ass candidate to run against him as a Hillary 2.0
Dont worry by China pulling that currency stunt it just showed the entire worlds financial market that the Yuan is not a viable currency as a reserve currency this was a short term victory for China because they just achieved becoming a reserve currency in 2016 but this little stunt will cause faith to be lost in the currency itself which since it's not bound to gold is the worst thing to happen to a currency. In the long term China is going to lose big on potential deals with other countries due to this while the USD remains the same.
From this side of the Atlantic, it's hilarious how Donnie seems to actually believe that US tariffs on Chinese goods are a fee that the Chinese have to pay at their end to export, and the tariffs will have no impact on American consumers.
Of course, the reality is that the tariffs are collected by US Customs and Border Protection, the additional expense to importers will be passed on down the line, and US consumers will end up paying more for Chinese-made products. Meanwhile, the retaliatory tariffs imposed by the Chinese will result in American products costing more in China, so demand for US exports to China - such as they are - will decrease.
Who's being hurt more by this is debatable, but Xi Jinping has a reputation to uphold for not being the sort of guy who rolls over when China is attacked (which is how they see this), China has something like a couple trillion US dollars in the bank, and it owns a lot of US debt.
Today, the Chinese let their currency fall drastically, and they announced that no more American agricultural goods will be bought by Chinese companies.
There's a huge potential for things to get completely out of hand, and sane people have zero confidence that the orange bankrupt has the intelligence to comprehend the risks or deal with the upheaval he's creating. If he screws the pooch in the usual way, that will have a much wider impact than how much Americans have to pay for a new smartphone or cheap Chinese clothing.
Donnie certainly is screwing the pooch with blinders on. The demand side consequences you are talking about are only now starting to trickle down. But, the supply side benefits are exploding. Unemployment is at a 50 year low. People sidelined in the labor reserve for many years have been getting off their bum and getting jobs. As a result, demand-pull inflation has not been occurring. The more than healthy GDP as a tax base has eased borrowing pressure, and private investment is up.
The thing is that anyone here on the western shore, with a short 24 month horizon, is politically excited about current conditions. This means that the encore of a U.S.-U.K. trade deal with no Brexit is all the more likely. Sadly, you may never get the Trumpster out of your face.
My heartfelt condolences, sir. Islamic immigrants changing the treasured Anglo-Saxon culture. And, now this: a big brother of the worse kind who will be fucking JohnBull's pooch. It's a bad time for England, I guess.
Your grasp of economics is clearly vastly better than mine, so it's not possible for me to say anything intelligent about the points you make.
On the question of a UK-US trade deal, there's huge disquiet here on the political left (my preferred bubble) about what this might entail. The prevailing view is that the UK will be in a very weak negotiating position when it stands on its own, and any deal with the US will involve things like opening the borders to US agricultural products, including chlorine-washed chicken, hormone-treated beef and GMO crops, all of which raises the hackles of some and fills UK farmers with dread. The Trumper also did one of his classic moves a few months ago and casually dropped into some interview or something that US firms would have to be allowed to bid on contracts for the National Health Service. As you no doubt know, the NHS is considered an almost sacred institution. A lot of people would be highly disturbed by the idea of profit-led American firms getting their greedy fingers on it.
With regard to Islamic immigrants, the insular, highly conservative nature of some groups from the subcontinent is a problem in a few areas, but nobody should believe a quarter of the bile that's put out by Breitbart and its ilk.
It's not just a bad time for England; it's a disturbing time for all four counties of the UK. Most people are carrying on with their lives as normal, of course, but the reality of the Brexit shit-storm will definitely hit everyone sooner or later, and it's very likely it will be right in their wallet.
Politically, there are rumblings from Northern Ireland that a referendum on unification with the Republic might just happen in the next few years, and a majority could decide their lives would be better if they detached from the remaining three countries - or two, if there's another Scottish independence referendum and the Brexit mess has changed the climate so much that a majority vote to tell England to fuck off.
Sadly, I for one am shaking my head. As an American with lots of international defense/business experience, I know the importance of diplomacy. I am constantly exasperated with the 90% of Americans that don't know what language is spoken in any country outside of the North America continent, and can't even find these places on a map. They can't eat with their left hand like I do, and are hopeless at saying translated "please, thank you, sorry, and hello" from any foreign language phrase book.
The liberal-moderate bubble in the UK raise reasonable concerns that good conscientious people should have. If Donnie had half a brain, he would try to encourage branding of American products and services to meet the real concerns of this British market segment. Successful multinational companies in all countries are good at this.
It pisses me off that while American diplomacy could seize this opportunity to help England make itself stronger thereby being a good ally, and indirectly adding to global stability, Donnie is just being his usual asshole self. God, am I sick of that guy. To a much lesser degree I'm sick of China, but it's only a minor point.
Problem: China isnt self sufficient with its food supplies in fact they get most of their food from the USA. China made an enemy out of nearly everyone of its neighbors due to the south sea territory dispute. Strategically they are at a massive disadvantage on many fronts. Devaluing its currency is most likely causing more economic damage to it's own citizens than ours.
Those damn Chinese eh?😂
I just want them to change their pressured society under all of their money addicted government. It’s sick
I dont like the USA or China. Both hideous. Would be good if they all got wiped out. The world would be a better place.
Capitalism and communism are not the same one has killed 150 million people. You know which one of it did it?! Communism that shit literally only has one path and that's genocide and control of the populice through fear. Capitalism all you need is the carrot to drive us ahead you very rarely need a stick.
America has killed over 500,000 people since 9/11 in its 'war on terror'. Half of them innocent civilians. You dont think youre being controlled? Youre delusional. The "freedom" and "american dream " that capitalism sells the people is nothing but a lie. Youre just a minion propping up the super rich, the 1 percent. You will be a wage slave your entire life making just enough to ensure you keep working then if youre lucky when youre old theyll throw you a few crumbs in the form of a pension. Just enough to help you survive a few more miserable years before you cark it and are no longer a drain. The only freedom you have is the freedom to choose between coca cola or pepsi. Wake up.
Pff half a million vs 150 million with those numbers you ain't going to sell starvation communism.
Oh you think your government wont let you starve? Lol think again. How many millions of working poor are there already in the states. Working 3 jobs just to stay afloat. Im not selling communism. I think both are equally horrendous. Im selling revolution. Half a million only since 2001. Many millions more in previous wars.
Those working 3 jobs just to stay afloat are mostly the unskilled immigrants from Asia, South America or Philippines etc. It is pretty difficult to be skilled and NOT find a well-paying job in USA.The native Americans are pretty happy with the current state of affairs. USA economy is not dependent on China - it's the other way round.
Wiping US n China from Earth will only make way for an Islamic regime like that in the Middle East. Imagine that happening to the entire world and you'll start praying to the US (and Russia, Japan). If countries like Russia, US, Japan etc were not there we would be living in the Middle/Dark Ages. Europe is also good but now they calling too many Africans/Syrians.
