I love the smell of some subways

Basically, ever since I was a child, I always loved how many of the subways I had been on smelled. I can't generalize all subways in North America, but I love the smell of many North American systems such as the NYC and Toronto subways. Is that normal? I have been to other subway systems like those in China and France and none of them smell that pleasant to me (the former being too odourless for me).

Is it normal to love the smell of some subway stations?

    You will thrive in the Parisian metro during summer, damn thing stinks of fermented urine.

    Regardless a decent public transportation facility vital for Paris.

      Paris was an exception. Nearly threw up the first time I went in there.

        Yep, the very first time I went into the metro hoping to get out of the summer heat - a train just happened to be coming into the station and a burst of warm air came up the stairwell. I almost collapsed from the smell of the urine.
