When I walk into a grocery store, I am in heaven. I'm so happy I didn't live before this luxurious entity existed. We've got it made! Everything right there at the tip of your fingers. I'm thankful for this.

I have always loved American supermarkets, especially the specialty ones like Trader Joes.
But after 4 years in the 3rd world, even a Winn Dixie or Safeway would be heaven.
Sure there are markets down here, and some have lots of cool stuff from all over the world, but just the incredible variety and low prices are the stuff of sweet dreams, some nights.
For instance, a 32 ounce bottle of Best Foods mayo down here can run over us$8.00 and a us$0.99 can of Hunts spaghetti sauce is about 4.
If only the Lear Jet wasn't in the shop, we'd be shopping in the states right now.
I like grocery stores :)
But I slso like baking ... so I like going to get the food and enjoy preparing it .
We live in an incredibly age where food is varied and plentiful and knowledge is at our fingertips. I don't think that's ever happened before, in all of human history. Sure, rich countries and people still have the most and control everything, but nation after nation is developing to a state of abundance. Maybe I'm wrong, but we're progressing!
