Does anyone else feel like they are okay looking, but whenever they are in a picture they look awful? I am torn between thinking if I am just uglier than I think or I just take bad pictures.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I look good. Then out of curiosity I take a picture of myself with my phone or something and feel like I look horrible!! Then I look into the mirror again and think I look okay again. It's frustrating
Ok, I will tell you the exact reason as to why some people look worse in pictures. When you take a picture the picture is only 2-D (Cameras can only take pics and see in 2 Dimensional) Your eyes and what you see in real life is 3-Dimensional, So if you do not have an angular face shape, or high cheek bones to accentuate 3-D most likely you will look worse in pics.
very true, but there are rare times where I'll fall in love with my own pictures, it's strange.
it could be either one. Im over weight but in my head i dont feel that way. I feel like a size 2 pretty girl.... then i look in the mirror and realize that im not. But somehow i take awesome pictures. On the other hand... some people just arent photogenic. I have friends that are absolutely beautiful in person but they take HORRIBLE pictures!!!!

Maybe it has somthing to do with self-esteem. I've noticed that whenever I feel good about myself and look at pictures of myself I like them a lot, but whenever I feel not so good, I think that I look bad in the SAME pictures.
Photos are horrible!! I'm feelin' ya bro. They suck. I am not very attractive, but in a photo I look even worse, it's really annoying!
I have that. Im not a good looking person anyway but when I see a photo of myself i look even worse, I could never put a pic of myself on facebook when I used it
I have the same problem. A friend of mine told me u just have to be comfortable taking pictures and stop being to hard on urself. Not every picture looks amazing. Models take hundreds of pictures to find a good enuff pic to be on the cover of a magazine.
i take awful pictures too. but when i take decent pictures, i look worse irl.
