I like to talk a lot

I noticed since I was a teenager that I can't hold my mental chatter in for too long. Fortunately, I don't do this in public and only in my house.

Anyways, there are some nights or even days where I verbally express what's on my mind...... to only myself. That's right, I talk to myself.... SOUND THE SCHIZOPHRENIA ALARM! No I kid; but I have heard that talking to yourself occasionally is normal and healthy. However, talking to myself daily, I don't know about that! My parents think I talk to myself because I would feel less lonesome. I think it's somewhat of a coping mechanism because of the excess amount of thoughts in my mind. Not to mention that I'm an auditory learner, so there's that.

What do you think? Is this normal?

You're just a talker. Some people are like that. Just pick your friends and long-term lovers wisely, i.e. make sure those people can tolerate your chattery nature. That way you don't have to hold yourself all the time just to accommodate them.

You can train talking to yourself not that much anymore, but it’s normal, especially for creative or talkative people. Getting it out feels good, even if there’s nobody there

Look into something called mindfulness meditation.

I talk to myself all the time. There's nothing wrong with it. You're just getting it out.

Me too and sometimes have one sided conversations with people who aren't there. The dog loves it, she thinks I'm talking to her

I do that too, it's normal. It helps me to relax and be myself.. when I feel like I can't be myself in public.

My girlfriend was officially prescribed with ADHD she started taking ADHD medication and it was making her anorexic and she was on a path to death luckily I looked it up and told her about it and stop taking it and then she had a more healthy lifestyle she was also depressed because of it and suicidal your medication wasn't the only reasons for that but it contributed to it a lot

    I talk to myself constantly.

In fact, I'm talking to myself right now.

It's not normal, especially since humans can just talk in their head instead.
You most likely have some form of ADHD.

And you're most likely a professional in the field of ADHD who can diagnose people on the internet on the basis of one brief post?

It's not fake but it's sometimes lazily thrown around as a term to describe almost anything.

The way of typing, the way of expressing him/herself, and all that with the "talking to myself". It really sounds like ADHD.
There are patterns of behaviour you can identify.

        I know things. That's what I do.

I thought the post was quite well written: I try and write well and usually succeed, does that make me ADHD? Not to mention the talking to myself? I also make lists, both for shopping and things to do; hate apostrophes in the wrong place; bad grammar; radio stations not quite tuned into the station and a bit of routine in my life.

You're obviously an internet shrink, please give me a diagnosis!

I've never said her/his post was bad or well written. I said it shows many signs of ADHD. Having ADHD has nothing to do with being able to write well or not. Rather the words your chose and the way you express yourself.

You seem to be more like a "control freak" (even if I don't really like this term).
You probably also like to know where things are in your house, hate when people touch your stuff (especially without telling you), need to have a plan before doing anything and hate when things don't go according to the plan.
            Am I wrong?

Very very VERY wrong: time you went back to shrink school. I am so far from being a control freak I'm laughing my head off here. Actually, you sound like a patronising narcissistic smart arse
